Cliches to stay away from:
1. “Long walks on the beach”. If you don’t regularly go for walk or jogs on the beach, leave this off of your profile. Talk about what you really do in your daily life.

3. “I can’t believe I’m doing this”. This is what 20% of online ads start off with. Everyone dates online now. You’ll sound like you’re not current or out of touch by saying something like this. It’s not an excuse to write a bad ad.
4. “I’m over the bar scene”. Just say what you mean which is probably that you want to meet new people.
5. “I know how to treat a lady”. If you know how to do this, it will show in your conversation and when you meet. Saying this make it sounds like you’re following a specific formula.
6. “People tell me I’m funny”. That’s not funny. Show you’re actually funny by what you write in your profile, you don’t have to say it.
7. “I’m looking for a special girl to bring home to meet my family/mom”. This sounds like you’re looking for a wife, and anyone will do. Every woman wants to feel special and unique. Also, you don’t want to come off sounding like you’re a momma’s boy.
Don’t exaggerate your personal qualities- be truthful with a positive spin.
